Botox / Xeomin

Botulinum toxin is used to treat dynamic lines, lines, or wrinkles caused by the movement (like frowning or squinting) of the underlying muscles. By relaxing the movement of the underlying muscle, we reduce the visibility of the wrinkles. Common treatment areas of the face are the forehead, between the eyes (frown lines), around the eyes (crows feet), and the lips.

Botulinum toxin is also used to treat facial pain, TMJ, facial symmetry, migraine headaches, and Bruxism (teeth grinding). Results typically last 3-4 months.

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis disorder is a condition that results in excessive sweating. This sweating can occur in unusual situations, such as in cooler weather, or without any trigger at all. It can also be caused by other medical conditions, such as menopause or hyperthyroidism. Hyperhidrosis can be uncomfortable. If no medical issue has been determined to be causing your Hyperhidrosis Botuliumtoxin may be a long-term treatment option for you.

Treatments typically take 30 minutes. Results are seen in 2-10 days following the procedure. Results typically last 3-4 months.

Botox / Xeomin Forehead

Several small injections of a neuromodulator are used to smooth horizontal lines and vertical wrinkles between the eyes and on the forehead. The injections work to relax the muscles that cause these wrinkles to form. Visible smoothing of the wrinkles becomes apparent as early as 3 days after injection and continues to improve over the course of 14 days. We will determine the need for any touchups after the 14th day. Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average.

Botox / Xeomin Crows Feet

Injections of neuromodulator to smooth horizontal lines caused by squinting and smiling along the sides of the eyes.

Botox / Xeomin DAO (muscles that cause smile to pull downward on the sides)

Neuromodulators such as Botox (onabotulinumtoxin A) and Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxin A) can improve the appearance of wrinkles during facial animation by reducing movement. Treatment usually takes 15-20 minutes. Visible smoothing of the wrinkles becomes apparent as early as 3 days after injection and continues to improve over the course of 14 days. We will determine the need for any touchups after the 14th day. Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average.

Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO)

The DAO is the muscle that pulls the corners of the mouth when you frown. Botox injections in this area can relax the muscle enough to let the corners of the mouth resume their normal contour.

Botox / Xeomin Masseters (muscles involved in jaw clenching)

Injection of a neuromodulator into the masseter muscles is an effective treatment for reducing a prominent or asymmetric jawline caused by enlarged muscles. The muscles along the posterior jaw are used to chew and clench the teeth and can become enlarged when the teeth are clenched while sleeping. The treatment reduces the size of the muscles injected, thereby smoothing the facial contour.

Using botox to reduce the size of a muscle is not uncommon and can be used for enlarged jaw muscles . The neuromodulator blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles preventing contraction. By preventing contraction the muscle will cease to grow in size and will begin to atrophy, reducing its prominence. Typically, 15-50 units of the neuromodulator are injected on each side of the face into the masseter muscle. This treatment should not have a major impact on biting or chewing. Patients who are interested in receiving botox to contour the jawline must be aware that the injection will only treat overactive masseter muscles and will not improve a squared jawline caused by bone structure.

Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average. A series of treatments may be required for optimal outcomes.

Botox / Xeomin Platysmal Bands

Platysmal bands are caused by aging and thickening of two edges of the neck muscles that run up the front left and right sides of your neck mid-line, all the way to your chin. Neuromodulators can be used as a stand-alone treatment to restore a more youthful neck contour and complement.

Treatment usually takes 15-20 minutes. Visible smoothing of the wrinkles becomes apparent as early as 3 days after injection and continues to improve over the course of 14 days. We will determine the need for any touchups after the 14th day. Treatment effects last for 3-4 months, on average.
